One word: Insanity

Day 2 of this Vegas trip will absolutely be one for the books.  Priscila & I decided to go Indoor Skydiving at Vegas Indoor Skydiving established as the first Indoor Skydiving location in the US in 1982.  Our instructor Reynolds was hysterical, enthusiastic, and ready to show us a good time.  We would most certainly recommend this attraction to any new comer or frequent visitor of Las Vegas, especially to those who want the thrill without the actual jumping out of a plane.

After Indoor Skydiving, we prepared ourselves for dinner & a night at the Marquee.  We had a VIP section that included bottle service with beautiful women tending to our every thirst quenching desire.  Yes, thats right, in Vegas you don’t even pour your own drinks in VIP (take a note of that New Jersey).  We also had the opportunity to run into former *NYSNC member Joey Fatone.  Yes, I was an *NYSNC fan and my favorite member was always Mr. Fatone and not only was he sweet enough to take the time to take a photo with me but he was hysterically funny.

The highlight of the evening had to be the mini concert by Busta Rhymes.  Incredible! This was definitely the best part of the trip for me thus far because I have loved Busta since he got me all in check back in the day.  I will be posting up the video on our Facebook page later on today!

A Giant Superbowl Win!

Well, we arrived in Vegas.  Lets just say its all and more I expected it to be.  Our first stop was at In & Out Burger which serves burgers and fries in an old school setting.  The line was long, quick, and service was perfect.  It literally is a burger factory that produces amazing burgers in a quick amount of time.  I would definitely recommend eating a double double with an order of fries.  My only qualm with In & Out is the lack of “healthier” choices but if your hitting up a burger joint its probably because your not looking for a fresh salad.

After In & Out we began planning where we would watch the Super Bowl.  Although I am not a Giants fan I definitely looked forward to a good rematch between the Patriots & the Giants.  We decided to watch the game at Mandalay Bay in one of their amazing bars.

Drinks flowed, food was served, and the excitement could not be contained.  There were some anxious moments for giants fans especially right before Manning made that huge throw giving them the opportunity to capture the lead with little time left on the clock.  Once the game was over the crew separated and everyone went about their own celebratory path.

The girls along with Jorge and Fawzy decided to explore the Vegas strip.  Honestly, if you’ve walked the NYC streets you may think you have seen it all but Vegas will trump NYC any day.  You will see Elvis impersonators, magicians, and so much more; but you will also find a plethora of people handing out fliers advertising “sexy girls”.  I suggest that you stay away from those fliers, no bueno.  What I do suggest is that you eat at the Bellagio buffet.  They have an incredible variety of delicious food.

Well, I am done here for today…off to explore what else Vegas has to offer.  Todays itinerary includes Indoor Skydiving, dinner, and the Marquee.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful post-Superbowl Sunday Monday!  Congrats to all the NY Giants fans out there!

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas…

On Sunday, the ladies of LJ Productions will take their first trip to Vegas together with Jack & Jorge. We have watched tons of movies about Vegas and heard the crazy stories about it as well. This does give us a little bit of a clue of what is about to happen to us, but I still wonder if Sin City is really as crazy as everyone claims it is. I really hope I do not wake up on the roof of some random hotel but knowing Jack & Jorge who knows what they have up their sleeves for their Vegas virgins.  Of course, we will be working while in Vegas but who says the girls can’t go out and play too?  I know I am definitely looking forward to seeing the strip, dancing at the clubs, and of course watching the Giants win the Superbowl.  One of my plans for Vegas is to capture some of the strips madness with Jacks fancy Canon DSLR that I dream about on a regular occasion.  I have two reasons for doing this; 1. I would love to start my own photography business that focuses on families, couples, and babies; and 2. I think candid photography captures a better story than any other method out there.  Vegas is full of characters and I cannot wait to meet & photograph as many as I can.

While the girls work on their usual office duties the boys will be attending the seminars provided by Mobile Beat.  Looks like fun huh?  Well, if your a DJ this is the place to be especially if you want to check out all the new equipment out there.

Well, pray for us girls and cheers to a good time in Vegas.  I will be blogging and tweeting on behalf of LJ Productions throughout the trip. Make sure you keep up with all the action here at our blog, facebook, and twitter!

Feel free to comment below or on our Facebook page with any pointers for the ladies.  We’d love your suggestions on where to go, what to see, and who to meet! And if you need an entertainment company that will rock your world, give us a call (973.751.8850).

Bridal Expos: Why they’re worth it.

As a bride living in a state where I am unfamiliar with wedding vendors I have feared attending Bridal Expos.  There are a variety of reasons many brides do not attend these expos; including mass emails that flood your inbox, mailings, unsolicited phone calls, and the awkwardness of some vendors “sales” pitches.  My fiance and I have attended two showcases since our engagement and here are some pointers on how to make these expos work for you.  First off, create a wedding email address (ex: goingtothechapel@gmail.com) and never give any vendor your personal email address unless they have been booked.  This will allow you to keep your personal email after getting hitched without having to go to those pesky unsubscribe sites.  Another pointer, be wary of those phone calls after the show claiming that you have won wedding bands or other items, of course…after you attend a 1 hour showcase of sorts that attempts to sell you any plethora of products.

Here are the reasons you should attend Bridal Expos, every chance you can:

1. Venues:  These expos are held in specific locations for a reason.  You may have never thought to hold your reception at PNC Bank Arts Center but low and behold they have a beautiful 6,000 square foot room that holds up to 500 guests.  This room is incredible and personally, I would have never even known about it had I not attended a Bridal Expo this past summer.

2. Vendors, Vendors, and more Vendors: Expos work best for Brides who have just begun planning their special day.  These vendors can tip you towards what colors or themes you would like to use or provide you with any other advice you may need.  My fiance and I discovered a perfect venue location for our wedding through a vendor from an expo.  At times a google search or wedding site doesn’t provide the help you’ll need to plan every aspect.  These vendors practically eat, breathe, and sleep weddings and they can and will point you in the right direction.  It is important to use your time wisely with vendors and make sure you are prepared with questions.  This is your time to have your picking of who you are willing to invest in to make your day stand out from all others.

3. Prizes:  Recently, LJ Productions was at a bridal expo at the Landmark in East Rutherford, NJ and they gave away a free Bachlorette party and honeymoon!  Remember when I told you to be wary of prizes, I was detailing those given out after the expo via another “vendor”.  The prizes Brides win during the expos are incredible and could help a bride and groom planning a wedding on a tight budget.

4. Discounts/Freebies:  Many vendors will offer a discounts/freebies of sorts for booking them through these expos.  Some will give a 15-20% discount or some will throw in some extras (ex: free photo-booth/engagement sessions/lighting).  With the economic crisis who doesn’t want or even need some extras?  Another pointer, attend these events as early as possible in your planning process.  Booking a vendor sooner than later can guarantee cheaper prices as they tend to increase their prices on a yearly basis.

5. Free food:  Who doesn’t like free food?  The food will be provided either by the venue or an outside catering company.  If you are unsure of whether or not you would like to book the venue/caterer, you could always use the expos menu as a sample menu for your own wedding day.  Always use these expos as an inspiration and write everything down that you like or do not like.  You can always use them in the future when planning or discussing details with your vendors/planners.

6. Networking:  By networking I don’t mean with vendors only.  Get courageous and talk with other brides about when they’re wedding is, what they’re themes/colors are, and anything else that could help you.  Remember these expos are for you and its entirely up to you how you plan to use the information given to you.

2011 Party of the Year

LJ Productions proudly announces 2011 Party of the YEAR!

Paige’s Tiffany’s Sweet 16

There is no denying this party was lavish, exciting, and full of surprises.  When Paige booked her Sweet 16 with LJ Productions she detailed the importance of having a high-energy party.  She knew her Sweet 16 would be one for the books and would rival any of those Super Sweet 16’s you’ve seen on MTV.  Her theme was Tiffany & Co. and her spectacular dress fit her theme flawlessly, cascading in Tiffany blue with a diamond encrusted top.

The beautiful Lakeside Manor was the perfect venue to hold such a spectacular event.  Paige’s Sweet 16 included a concert package complete with motivators, a photobooth, intelligent lighting, DVD montage, monogram, and more!  Paige requested a club atmosphere with her music selection including club hits, remixes, mashups, and special guest DJ Lil Cee from 92.3.  Lil Cee played a club set mixing classic dance mixes with todays biggest hits keeping everyone on the dance floor.

Paige had a few surprises for her guests which included giving away three 30+ inch flat screen TV’s to guests selected at random from a hat.  Her parents on the other hand had a totally different surprise for their beautiful birthday girl.  Their surprise gift included a brand new black Bentley convertible that arrived during the party and was revealed to Paige and her guests.  The Bentley was an incredible ending to a superb Sweet 16!  LJ Productions would like to thank Paige’s family for allowing our staff to host their daughters Sweet 16 and look forward to working with them again soon.

Another successful event and year for LJ Productions has gone by and we look forward to an amazing 2012.  Thank you to all of our clients for giving us the pleasure of hosting their beautiful events all year round.  Keep partying hard and perhaps your event will be the 2012 Party of the Year!

Jack Bermeo: DJ of The Year

Belleville, NJ, August 24, 2011 – Jack Bermeo, owner and operator of LJ Productions / Entertainment LLC was recently crowned as “DJ Of The Year” by DJ TIMES, the premier magazine for DJs in the United States, at their annual DJ Expo held in Atlantic City, NJ.  The competition challenged 11 DJs from across the nation to showcase a routine or game they created to an audience and panel of judges, all comprised of fellow mobile entertainers.

A Belleville native, Jack Bermeo is an entrepreneur and entertainer at heart; therefore he jumped at the chance to participate in the time-honored “DJ Of The Year” competition at this year’s DJ Times DJ Expo. After months of grueling planning, production, and practice, he performed his signature dance in front of over 5,000 attendees at the Casbah Nightclub located at the Trump Taj Mahal. The dance, based on Pitbull’s hit song,  “I Know You Want Me”, incorporates easy “follow-me” moves that can be performed by anyone with a little pep in their step. The performance showcased Jack’s ability to captivate and motivate a crowd.

Whether at a wedding, mitzvah celebration or corporate event, this dance is a crowd mover. This was never more apparent than during this year’s competition. Jack’s custom dance went up against 10 other seasoned professionals, all whom developed their own signature styles and dances. However, Mr. Bermeo’s performance captivated the crowd and judges alike, all whom unanimously crowned Jack Bermeo as the “DJ Of The Year”.

“The honor that comes with being named DJ Times DJ Of The Year is indescribable. There are dozens of DJs who can have this honor bestowed upon them, and I am beyond ecstatic to have been given this award. This will allow me to showcase my talents and my passion for this industry to a new audience and will most certainly help LJ Productions reach the next level,” said Jack Bermeo.

Jack Bermeo has owned and operated LJ Productions / Entertainment LLC for over 10 years. He was introduced to the mobile DJ industry by a local teacher in 1994 and decided to set out on his own in 2001. For the last 11 years, Jack and his team has solidified their stances as one of the leaders of the mobile DJ industry in the metro NYC area. Jack is not your 80’s MC who resorts to outdated techniques and loud overpowering dialogue; rather he embraces the crowd as if they were part of his entourage. Thus, this allows Jack to provide his audience with a pleasant and entertaining MC experience.

Jack Bermeo lives and breathes music, as it is apparent when you visit his office in Belleville, NJ. His inspiration ranges from Michael Jackson to Rebecca Black! He draws his satisfaction from witnessing his clients enjoy themselves each and every weekend.  He and his team provide DJ, lighting, and video services for thousands of satisfied clients all over the Tri-state area. His work has lead him to host parties for Donald Trump, Chelsea Handler, NY Jets owner Mike Tannenbaum, NJ Devils Player Ken Danyeko, rappers Jim Jones and Juelz Santana, as well as radio personalities Lil Cee, Camilo, DJ Reymo, & DJ Toro.
